I was told by a friend that u don't ask ur doctor for one or the other, u ask the pharmacy. Is that true?

It depends on how your doctor writes the prescription. If your doctor just writes "suboxone" and doesn't specify tablets or film/strips, then it's up to you how to have the pharmacy fill it. However, most doctors will write the script specifically for the tablets or film and then the pharmacy has to fill it as written.
