Folks,

Something interesting..

I had a very severe bleeding issue that required emergency surgery this pas week. I was on 3mg of Iv Dilaudid every 2 hours. I was scared to death that they were not going to be able to treat the pain as they were jamming things down my throat in the ER before cutting me. I was surprised at how 'well' the Dilaudid worked for the pain, and the euphoric effect reminded me of the first shot of morphine I ever had.

After 5 days in the hospital, I went home and went into full blown withdrawal after about 8 hours. I called the subox doc and he told me to take one of my old 8mg films.. I took a half and was fine in ten mins. I went back to my .5mg this morning and have been fine all day.

I am happy with the results and am even more happier that after 8 years on opiates, and being off of them for three months via subox, my body is returning to normal. It's the best news and feeling that I've had for years since I realized I was dependent on the pills. And, it was even better to rip up the prescription for the 30mg Oxys they gave me..

Great job!!! It's really hard to rip up those prescriptions that at one time, we would have sold our soul for. It must have been scary to be rushed into emergency surgery! I hope you have people around you who realize what a big deal it is that you didn't fill your prescription! Awesome!

Thanks.. But after thinking about it, I should have filled it and kept it on the shelf to test me every day and to keep me honest.. Then after a few weeks fill the bottle with clear glue and keep it as a trophy!
