Background: Was severely addicted (aren't we all) to methadone for 2 years. Had worked my way up to Methadone over a year of abusing all other types of opiates... I was a mixer, didn't care if it was coke, oxy's, and bars... or ketamine for that matter. But I digress. I got on suboxone (8mg twice a day) in April of 07. I was supposed to be on an 18 month program. Then in March of 08, I found out I was pregnant. My doctor did not want to risk losing the baby (neither did I). I had a beautiful, healthy baby girl. Yes, I believe she experienced withdrawls, and I have dealt with my guilt about that. During my pregnancy I took 4mg a day. It was a completely subconscious taper. After my daughter was born, I got back up to 8mg twice a day.
Today: Here I am. Completely ready to rid myself of this burden. My doctor says he has patients that stay on sub for years and years. I have already been on it for years and I am terrified of the withdraws. I have read through some of the posts and have not run across anyone who has been on it as long, but I know they are out there. So I figured I'd send out an SOS. I am a stay at home mom, my husband works out of town, I have not taken any in 2 days, help help help.
