Hi

I have a history of degenerative disk disease & I am having alot of back pain this past week. It is like the pain that got me hooked in the first place! It has gotten worse over the week but i have gone to work everyday. Does anyone know how to dose for pain? My doctor thinks more is better & i disagree.
I am currently taking 9 mg per day. I would go to a chiropractor but my insurance won't cover it & i don't have money to pay out of pocket.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi Tiki,

Do you dose multiple times per day? Apparently Suboxone's pain relieving properties are only good for 4 to 6 hours.

I'm sorry you're suferring with this chronic pain. I hope you can get it under control soon.

Hi Tiki! Good question! This comes up periodically and it's good information to have.

Like Romeo said, the analgesic properties of suboxone usually on last 4 to 6 hours. The recommendation for using suboxone for pain is to split your dose into 4 and take a dose every 6 hours.

I'm so sorry that your back is bothering you! I hope you feel better soon!

Romeo-Thank you for the well wishes. I had been dosing twice a day & had no problem until this past week. I just lifted something or turned wrong & my back went into muscle spasms & serious pain hit!

Amy-Thank you for posting. I will switch my dosing today. Hopefully, i will have good news to report :D

Isn't it strange how just lifting something a little wrong can tweak our backs so easily? Knock on wood, I haven't done that in a long time, but I have done it. Hopefully this latest injury is minor and it heals up sooner rather than later.
