Is anyone else taking a low dose on a permanent basis? I am on .25 mg/day for the past month or two.

I am not tapering. I just did not like the "buzz" of the 1 mg or 2 mg. I was prescribed 8mg/day, but after taking 2 pills, realized I could not take even that amount. In the first 2 weeks, I settled on a dose of 1/4 of a 2mg pill daily.

The past month, I have used compounded subutex from the pharmacy, but have found my own compounding is cheaper. I mix a 2mg tablet with 2 ml of water in a contact lens case. I use a veterinary syringe (no needles on syringe), because they have lines to .01 ml. The other syringes are not fine enough.

Each morning, I take .2 ml of the solution. Sometimes, I take a little extra at night, so I think it comes to .25 mg/day. I'm trying to get to where I take it only once per day, and maybe I should raise to .25 mg in the morning but then I think it's too intense.

To reduce the dose further, I have to dose twice daily.

.10 mg in morning
.05 mg in afternoon
