I didn't need one, as long as there is no chance of precipitated withdrawal, I don't see it necessary

Check with your clinic. We require a driver or public transportation after induction. I don't really want to try to explain to a plaintiff's lawyer why I let them drive after giving someone a new narcotic.

Thanks docm for giving that great advice. Was that subject not discussed in the Suboxone training course? My Dr. gave me the full 24 mg's of Sub which was waaaaaay too much and I drove home higher than a kite. As soon as I got home I threw up. The only time I ever threw up taking drugs is when I'd reached my required high from heroin. That's what crossed my mind when it happened.

Rule, kind of embarassing to admit but I learned more here in 4 hours of reading than I did with the 8 hour waiver course and a seminar an opioid management course.
We induce here in the clinic, since you need to be in moderate withdrawals I don't want a person driving. After hanging around a couple hours and having a dose or two most really aren't feeling up to driving. Actually, I think they like being pampered a bit, the last half hour they are feeling better and then a driver home for a hot bath and tea.
The course is still teaching 8-16 for induction. I haven't gotten higher than 8 and that felt a little on the high side by the time we were done.
Crystal, please let us know how your induction is going...
