A HUGE reason I quit suboxone was because I hated my doctor. Now I realize that is a stupid reason and I could have found another, but I must share why.

* At the first appointment he told me how high his IQ was. (Too bad mine is higher although I didn't mention that)
* He would ask questions which you could tell were scripted and required for his notes. Essentially those were the only questions he ever asked.
* Occasionally he would ask questions, but then he would forget and ask the same crap every single time (like my job or if I was married or if my spouse used drugs)
* Most often, he would occupy my valuable work time talking about himself for 45 min. to an hour.
* He would show me pictures of the women he was dating via match.com or some other dating site
* Several times he suggested I try medical marijuana (script through him of course) when I wasn't experiencing or expressing any concerns (HELLO - want off the drugs not on)
* He would take phone calls all through my appointments with him - rude
* He was always trying to tell me about how much he knew about worker's comp (this is the industry I am in) and he was SO WRONG.
* He was banned from Lens Crafters because when HE had to copy and bring his OWN patient records he became upset about it and told them they were discriminating because he was Jewish. He went all the way to headquarters. Read the letter to me in my appt. He then went on to tell me that he was going to picket. There was NO discrimination because he was Jewish. It was stupid. I said "are you sure you don't have better things to do with your time like making money and are you sure you really want to invest so much into this"?
* He would suggest meeting for coffee instead of at the office for the appt

At the end, I did send him a referral for work because I needed an addiction specialist opinion and he already gave me his opinion in my appt. So I knew what we would be paying for. I was VERY clear what we needed. Well he can't follow instruction so he did WAY more than what we needed. Then he wanted to charge 4x what we agreed. I went back to the contract and showed him where we agreed on pricing and that I would need to know in advance if he thought it would cost more. He kept sending me all of these e-mails in all caps accusing me of not sending him the original e-mail (duh you can track it). Then he started calling me at home on my cell phone. When I wouldn't answer he left me a message and said I was ignoring him. He just wouldn't stop.

Finally, I had it. I sent him a text and said "I am cancelling my next appointment and will not be rescheduling please note that I have given at least 3 days notice". He sent a message back and said "I think you should find a new doctor". WTF? So I said "hence me not rescheduling with you". Then he launched into work stuff and I finally told him if he sent me another message I would consider it harrassment.

Later that day, he called the VP of Operations at my company to discuss this case (she said she thought he was nuts), but he wanted nothing from her and I KNOW the reason he called was to essentially threaten me.

Note: He had his worker's comp license suspended and had to take a psych eval before they would give it back. He couldn't do worker's comp for 2 years.

I just couldn't humiliate myself by seeing him one more time and my appt. was 4 days after that argument. I had no time to get a doc or taper.

LMAO  Is true. Is true.

Unfortunately, I didn't know all of that when I started with him. But EVERYONE in my office thinks he is a total nut bag.

I will say he did write a very nice forensic report however and his IQ is probably quite high. It is his EQ that is suffering.

It's a darn shame you had a dr like that. If you are still off subs and doing well... he may have [unintentionally] done you a favor. If you are not doing well... I'd be mad as hell and want to do something about this creep. Not only for your own peace of mind but to prevent him from pulling the same crap on others.

My guess [based on his interaction with you] is that you are an attractive young lady and he was interested in a relationship with you. Since he was your subs dr, he probably felt once he got you in a relationship, he would be in total control. Which is what people like this want more than anything else. I would almost bet he uses his practice to prey on nice looking, young and vulnerable women. You were probably a challenge to him because of your intelligence and the fact you weren't interested in him.

If I were you... I would report him or else if you don't have any proof, reconnect and start taping your conversations. Now days these devices are cheap and work really well in person and/or by phone. However, before doing this, check your state laws to make sure it's legal. It's legal in most states as long as at least one party is aware the conversation is being taped. In other words, a third party can't tape two othere talking without their knowledge. But you can record your own conversation with someone else without them knowing it.

Hi Jackcrack,
Where on God's green earth is this whack job located. I hope not in the North East - Boston Area??? Although I am all set and couldn't be happier with my Suboxone Dr..
I agree with suboxfreedom.... If you have the time and can do it without breaking any laws? Then I would try to get him on tape saying this stupid stuff so the proper authorities can take action against him before he try's to manipulate another addict!!!! If you don't have the time then I would just stay clear of this NUT.... Sounds like to me that he is headed for trouble... Anyway's I saw your post and had to put in my $.02 as usual.. :D
Best of luckon your Recovery.....

God Bless
TW

He is not in the Boston area.

I am pissed off at him, but I too made my own choice and it was my ego that did this to me, not him. SO.....I won't be reporting him. But I do feel better just posting about him and getting all this off my chest.
