Tomorrow will be my 3rd day on subs. The first 2 days I took 2mg 3x a day and because I was feeling like that was too much, my doctor told me tomorrow to just take 2mg in the morning and another one at night. I am nervouse that if I skip the afternoon dose I will go into withdrawls or become sick or something. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Also, the first two days I was prescribed tablets and now I have the films. Is there anything different between the two besides obvioussly one is a tablet and one is film.

Thank you

-Phil

I think you will be fine. If you start to feel withdrawalish before your second dose, just try to distract yourself for 20-30 minutes and it will probably go away. If it doesn't go away and you're feeling progressively worse, just take your dose. It's not like you're going to suddenly be throwing up or something, it comes on pretty slowly.

It will probably take a few days to get your correct dose figured out and get you stabilized, then you'll be able to dose once in the morning and forget about it. Good luck.

Hi Phillip,

I agree with DOQ that you won't all of a sudden go into withdrawals. Suboxone stays in your system a long time so any symptoms would creep up slowly after a day or two w/o the Sub.

The difference between the films and the pills are not much. Some say the taste isn't as bad with the films. (I can't tell) The films do dissolve a lot faster and are really easy to fold or cut when one starts to taper. It is also said that the films have better absorption too. One other thing is that they are easy to take with you and are protected by the plastic cover. It has a bar code on it so they can track who it was prescribed to if it is found on the street for sale. I do wonder if that has helped at all. Personally I like the films a lot better. I don't have to sit and wait as long for it to melt and take effect.

You are only on day 3 so give it some more time to get adjusted to it. Luckily for me I felt pretty good right off with the exception of taking too much. I just took a little less and all was well.

Keep posting your progress and how it's going.
