About three years ago I decided to end an opiate addiction and got on Suboxone. I was serious about it and went from 8 mg down to zero in approximately 72 days. I was successfully sober for three years medicine free. In the past year I have started to dabble again and after about a year and a half decided I need to get off this path (took 80-120mg a day. But skipped some days). So my question is I obtained Suboxone and tried just 2 mg and it's working!! I figured I would need to go back to 8mg, but since my addiction wasn't as long, I tried low just to see what happened. The past 4 days I've only taken 2 mg in morning and i felt fine. Do I even need Suboxone or should I just start my taper right away. Haven't tried cause i am scared to death of and wd. Want to get drug free asap and get back to where I was 2 years ago. Very surprised I feel this way. Any comments or help welcome. Anyone else experience this? Thanks!!

FYI my first time I tapered after about 30 days to 2nd, then 1mg foe a week, then .5 for week, then every other day, then every 3 days until I forgot to take and never looked back. I think it was total of 72 days. Felt almost no wd! So looking to do dame thing.

B

Hi Fegbri and welcome.

I have no idea what happened with your post and why none of us saw it, but I sincerely apologize.

With regard to your situation, I really don't endorse doing the suboxone route without going through a doctor, but I can tell you what I think of your plan. And I'm not a doctor, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I think if you're fine at 2 mg, then I wouldn't take anymore and I'd taper down from there. It might be a pretty quick taper.

Again, I'm really sorry about not having any replies to your post. And I hope your quick detox plan works out for you. Let us know.
