My name is Phil and I am a new user to this forum. I have been taking on average 70-80mg of Hydrocodone a day....about 7-8 of the 10mg pills. After trying to stop what I feel like is a million times I have came to the conclusion that I cannot do it without help. I went to a physician who prescribed me suboxone 2mg 3x a day. I let myself get into some withdrawals and took my first pill this monring. I feel a little out of it but it definately has helped. I am not getting diarhhea, panic attacks, muscle cramps, etc like I normally do. So my question is, does the 2mg 3x a day of suboxone seem like a good/correct dosage for the amount of hydrocodone I was taking?

Thank you for your time,

Phil

Hi Phillip and welcome to the forum! I was taking about the same amount of hydro as you, and my doctor wanted me to start with 3 8mg films/day! I knew I didn't need that much, so I only started with 8mg/day total, and didn't even need that much. I just wanted to make sure I was taking the lowest dose possible to be effective, since I don't have insurance and have to pay out of pocket for my subs! So I ended up taking 4mg/day and it worked, and I still feel fine on that dose.

But everyone is different, and you might need a little more or a little less, depending on how you feel. If you feel like your cravings are under control and you are not having any withdrawals, then that sounds like a good dose, and should be enough for you.

Glad you found us and feel free to ask any more questions!
